Bart Kelleher was appointed CEO in 2020 after holding senior executive roles within Chembulk since joining the Company in early 2016, initially as Chief Strategy Officer and adding the Chief Financial Officer duties in early 2019. Prior to joining Chembulk, Kelleher was the Chief Operating Officer for shipping asset manager Principal Maritime Management. That followed notable finance experience in investment banking, commercial banking and capital markets roles in the maritime and energy-related industries at Bear Stearns and HSH Nordbank. Kelleher earned a B.E. from New York Maritime College as well as a Master’s degree from MIT and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Solomon Tan has been with the Company since 2015 and held several key roles within Chembulk, most recently as Senior Vice President of Finance. He also serves as the Company’s General Manager for the Asia region. Prior to joining Chembulk, Tan was previously with the global financial advisory firm Borelli Walsh, which followed his years with the international accounting firm Deloitte. Mr. Tan is a Chartered Accountant and is a graduate of Nanyang Business School with a degree in Accountancy.
Mel is a Master Mariner with over 40 years of experience including a lengthy seagoing career followed by shoreside executive roles. Prior to joining Chembulk in January 2018, Mel spent 28 years at Odfjell, sailing as Chief Officer and Master until mid-2000 and then held various commercial and operational leadership roles. Key assignments included Commercial Manager for Odfjell Tankers South Africa, Terminal & Commercial Manager in Charleston, SC, USA and Commercial Director for Odfjell Terminals USA in Houston, a position he held until he joined the Chembulk team in 2018. Mel is a graduate of the Pangbourne Nautical College and South Shields Marine and Technical College.
